I am using a Dell laptop running Windows 7, my docking station connects to two LG 24" monitors via DVI cables. I have been noticing fragments of desktop applications remaining on the screen, if I hover a desktop application over the top then this 'wipes the fragments away'
I updated to the latest video card drivers on the Dell web-site, checked refresh rate etc and the issue persists.
After some research I have found the culprit!
Navigate to Advanced System Settings (Control Panel\System and Security\System)
Select settings within the performance area
Select custom
Uncheck the following:
Fade out menu items after clicking
Boom - no more nasty window fragments!

SAP Passport and certificate prompts
The SAP passport is a really useful feature, however due to standard browser security settings it will simply replace all those frustrating repetitive credential prompts with slightly less annoying certificate confirmation prompts.
You can overcome this issue by adjusting your web browser security settings...

Windows 7 - "A required CD/DVD driver is missing" during USB Install
Encountered a strange error earlier today while installing Windows 7 x64 using a USB stick rather than physical media, the installer failed with 'A required CD/DVD driver is missing'
I had just built the USB installer from an official Microsoft ISO using the Rufus tool and did not expect to encounter this error.
The solution was very simple, instead of using a USB 3 port on my computer I connected the USB key to a USB2 port (my ESATA port doubles as USB 2.0 port) and this resolved the issue.
Happy days!
